Taste: I ordered the fried chicken with a double order of mac n chesse. The chicken was excellent fried nice and seasoned just right made to order fresh out the kitchen. They give you five large wings not like your local chink store or they give you other cuts of chicken. I stuck to the classic wings. My side of mac and cheese hit my mouth with a unexpected flavor. It was from scratch nice and cheesy, moist, and a slight pepper season. I didnt expect for the mac and cheese to be so well. The chicken was great but the mac n cheese sealed the deal for me.
Price: For my meal all together was 11$ and some change. It was a healthy portion of chicken and side dish with a piece of cornbread. If u have 11 dollars to spare and want to get some good chicken why not spend on them.
Menu: This was a standard soul food/black folks/Gmom/Sunday dinner menu. From fried fish to chicken and etc. The menu is quite straight forward with side being rice, greens, yams, and mac n cheese etc. You can get just the main meal by itself or a sandwich or make it into a platter imma big guy so I went with the platter. Be warned when we first went in there it was two people ahead of us and it took close to 30 minutes plus to get our food. The wait is long so if you are eating from them please order if not your going to wait.
Look: Its a simple store front with big windows. A large sign thats hard to miss. In the inside there around 8 tables where you can dine in with tired lookin plants lining the wall. The walls are decorated in some jazzy neo-soul paintings. When you order its a large black counter you or the employees can hardly see over luckly im tall so no harm no foul.
Exclucviness: I would definitaly come back just for chicken and mac n cheese. I would bring a girl through for the first time, order our food and chill maybe outside cuz that wait is goin be long. Im not goin say call on your first time because they dont have paper menus, so I know some females have to see what they have instead of just free styling the menu to them, but you can use that time to politic, blaze up, or have her wait in the restaurant or car it’s whatever.
